Catholics for Kerry

Sunday, September 05, 2004

I had mentioned trying to wade into the who stem cell research debate. I've now added a Catholic Q & A page 3 to the Catholic Q & A on the Kerry Catholics website. It deals with when life begins, stem cell research and therapeutic cloning.

It is not an argument for embryonic stem cell research which Kerry supports, but to make Catholics aware of a few things about life beginning at conception and therapeutic cloning, and stuff, that many don't know. Kerry does support embryonic stem cell research as do many Republican pro-lifers including Orin Hatch and Kay Bailey-Hutchinson of TX.

The point of this q & a is to argue that while many Catholics may not agree with embryonic stem cell research, the issue is not as clear cut as it seems at first and proponents have a reasonable grounding for what they believe.
